one GOOD case study of blogger (project)

  Tan Fong Kai not his real name, age 10, was addicted to computer games. He played computer everyday for hours and failed every exams. His parents and teachers warned him not to spend too much time playing and spend more time studying. However he did not listen to them and continued playing. Until one day when he was waiting for a game to be downloaded, he went blogging and he came across a blog which post about how to control the time for playing, how to study well and also the consequence of addiction to computer games. He then realised his mistake and started studying. He did well in PSLE and went to a good secondary school. He said,"If I were not to stumble upon the blog and continue getting addicted, I would not have break from the bondage of computer games and achieved this result".

Most people create a blog meant for a selected group or friends to view, but when blogging has become a common place, it has risks that other unknown people may view it. Most people write about their personal lives and this will allow online stalkers to find their victims. Most people are concerned about children on the internet and set up rigorous posting guidelines for children and teenagers, but few adults heed the warnings and often do not consider that they too can be targeted as victims.

 1.Never disclose your password or PIN to anyone
 2.Always type in the address of your bank’s or credit card company’s website to login.
 3.Use a secure password: not your date of birth, vehicle registration, telephone number or anything associated with you that someone might easily guess.
4.Use different passwords for different secure sites.
5.Clear your cookies and history.

Tips to prevent viruses from affecting your computer 2

1.Make sure your firewall is always is in a position "on". A firewall is a software prevent illegal access to your computer, whether they intend to remove the information, computer damage, or steal personal data. If u use more than one computer which are connected together, make sure the firewall on each computer are active. This is to prevent virus spread to all computer if one computer is affected.


Note: Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP with SP2 have a firewall already built-in and turned on by default.


2.Be careful of external storage media. External storage media like flash, SD card, portable hard drive and others can  become an intermediary for the spread of the virus so make sure you scan the external media to be save from viruses.


3.Use software that are legal. Illegal software usually contain pirated programs crack/ patch that will cause  the computer system to become unstable due to the nature of the crack is destructive of destroying the defense of the software that was hijacked to be use in a full version and this can be considered an exploit in Windows 7 so as to endanger the system.
